Next Services sign
Tells you how far to the next exit with gas, food or lodging so you can decide whether to pull off now or keep driving.
Usually posted right after an exit that had no services, warning drivers who just watched their last easy chance go by.
How to recognise it
This sign is a wide rectangle in green, used only for directions and distances. Green for directions, distances and exits. They never tell you what to do, only where things are, which is the simplest way to remember the colour.
What the test wants you to know
The distance on this sign is the only promise it makes. It says nothing about whether the businesses at that exit are open, so a low fuel light is a reason to take the current exit rather than gamble on the mileage shown here.
Practise it
Reading about a sign is not the same as recognising it in half a second with an examiner watching. Every state road signs test on this site shows the sign and asks you to name it, then shows four faces and asks you to pick the right one.
