Using this site
PracticeDMV is a free study site for United States permit, driver knowledge, motorcycle and commercial driver tests. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. There is no account to create and nothing to pay.
A study aid, not an official service
PracticeDMV is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any state DMV, motor vehicle agency, or government body, and it cannot book, sit, or score a real test for you. Passing a practice test here does not mean you will pass the real one, and it does not count toward any license requirement.
Test formats, fees, age limits and rules change. We check each figure against an official source and show the date we checked it, but a figure can go out of date between checks. Before you book a test or rely on a rule, confirm it with your own state's licensing agency. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
What you may do with the content
You may use the practice tests, guides and tools for your own study, and you may link to any page. You may not copy the question banks, guides or data tables in bulk, republish them, or scrape the site with automated tools to build another product. The practice questions are original material written from published vehicle codes and official sources; they are not copied from any state handbook or real exam.
Road sign images are the official federal MUTCD designs, taken from the Wikimedia Commons files of those designs, and are not claimed as our own work.
Advertising and third party links
The site is free because it may show advertising, which can be served by third parties such as Google. How advertising and analytics use cookies is explained in the privacy policy. Pages also link to official agency websites and other sources; we are not responsible for the content or availability of sites we do not run.
No warranty and limitation of liability
The site is provided as it is, without any warranty that it is complete, accurate, current or available without interruption. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from relying on the site, including a failed test, a missed appointment or a fee. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date at the top of the page changes when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Contact
Questions about these terms, or a correction to anything on the site, go to [email protected] or through the contact page. How the site is researched and checked is set out in the methodology.
