Shape and background first
Federal designation D9-9 in the MUTCD, the national standard every state signs to. Common near interstate interchanges outside city centers, far less common downtown where lodging is assumed to be easy to find on foot.

What the test wants you to know
The mistake people make
This is one of the few blue signs that shows up in fatigue related questions. If a scenario describes a driver fighting to stay awake, the correct move on the exam is usually to take the exit this sign points to, not to push on toward the destination.
