EV Charging sign
Public electric vehicle chargers can be reached from the next exit.
Appears at exits where charging equipment is built into a gas station, hotel or dedicated charging plaza, increasingly common on long interstate corridors.
How to recognise it
This sign is a square in blue, used only for motorist services. Blue for motorist services such as fuel, food, lodging and hospitals. Brown for parks, recreation and cultural sites. Neither colour is ever used for a rule.
What the test wants you to know
The plug symbol tells you a charger exists at that exit and nothing more, which matters far more here than it does at a fuel pump: connector type, network membership and whether the unit is fast or slow all sit outside anything the sign can say. Treat it as a prompt to check your own charging app before committing to the exit, because a blue service sign has never promised a working or compatible connection.
Practise it
Reading about a sign is not the same as recognising it in half a second with an examiner watching. Every state road signs test on this site shows the sign and asks you to name it, then shows four faces and asks you to pick the right one.
