Oregon CDL practice tests
Oregon does not offer the CDL skills test at any of its own DMV field offices. Every driving skills test in the state has to be scheduled with a state-approved third-party tester, while the DMV itself only handles the knowledge test and final card issuance.
The written exams themselves are federal. Oregon decides the permit rules, the fees and who runs the skills test, but the knowledge you are tested on comes from 49 CFR Part 383 and is the same in every state, which is why the 145 questions here work wherever you apply.

Commercial learner permit
Oregon requires the commercial learner permit to be issued and held for at least 14 days before an applicant can take the CDL skills test, and the permit is a single, non-renewable credential rather than something a driver can extend.

Fees
An original Commercial Driver's License costs $160.00 and an original Commercial Learner's Permit costs $40.00, fees that took effect January 1, 2024.

Where you test
Knowledge tests are given at DMV offices, but the CDL skills test is only available through a state-approved third-party CDL tester, not at a DMV field office.
