Georgia CDL practice tests
Georgia bundles knowledge test attempts into a single 35 dollar commercial application fee that covers up to four tries, so a candidate who fails once or twice is not charged again just to retake the written exam.
The written exams themselves are federal. Georgia decides the permit rules, the fees and who runs the skills test, but the knowledge you are tested on comes from 49 CFR Part 383 and is the same in every state, which is why the 145 questions here work wherever you apply.

Commercial learner permit
A Georgia commercial learner's permit is valid for up to 365 days, and the holder cannot take the CDL road skills test until at least 14 days after the permit's initial issuance.

Where you test
Knowledge tests, including the hazardous materials test, are taken in person at any DDS Customer Service Center rather than online or through an outside tester.
