Florida CDL practice tests

Florida hands most of its CDL skills testing to a network of state certified private Third Party Administrators and Testers, a structure the department's own oversight unit exists specifically to keep honest and consistent statewide.

The written exams themselves are federal. Florida decides the permit rules, the fees and who runs the skills test, but the knowledge you are tested on comes from 49 CFR Part 383 and is the same in every state, which is why the 145 questions here work wherever you apply.

Where you test

Road skills tests in Florida are carried out by state certified Third Party Administrators and Third Party Testers, overseen by FLHSMV's own CDL and Third Party Testing Unit, rather than by state examiners directly.
