Utah motorcycle permit test
Utah's motorcycle permit restrictions expire in a stepped schedule rather than all at once, a two month window of curfew, passenger, and highway speed limits, then no restrictions at all from the third month through the sixth.

Honest note: Utah Driver License Division does not publish the motorcycle test format anywhere we could confirm, so the 25 question count and pass mark of 20 are the best available figures rather than verified facts. The riding knowledge below is the same either way. Confirm the format with the agency before your appointment.
The rider course rule. Completing an approved Beginning Rider Course or Experienced Rider Course waives the motorcycle skills test, but the written knowledge test is still required Utah Driver License Division, checked 2026-08-28.

Controls and basic operation
