The format on file, and what is confirmed
A Vermont motorcycle learner permit stops working the moment you cross the state line, an explicit in-state-only limit that few neighboring states spell out, and it lapses after 120 days rather than the year-long windows common elsewhere.
Format not published by the agency
Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles does not publish the motorcycle test format anywhere we could confirm, so the 25 question count and pass mark of 20 are the best available figures rather than verified facts. The riding knowledge below is the same either way. Confirm the format with the agency before your appointment.
Does a course skip the test?
Completing the Vermont Rider Education Program's 15 hour Basic Rider Course waives both the knowledge test and the skills test, while the shorter Experienced Rider course waives the skills test only
