Controls and basic operation

The format on file, and what is confirmed
Mississippi ties the learner permit's own expiration to the holder's seventeenth birthday rather than a flat one-year clock for everyone, so a rider who starts at fifteen effectively holds the permit far longer than one who starts closer to seventeen.
Format not published by the agency
Mississippi Department of Public Safety does not publish the motorcycle test format anywhere we could confirm, so the 25 question count and pass mark of 20 are the best available figures rather than verified facts. The riding knowledge below is the same either way. Confirm the format with the agency before your appointment.
Does a course skip the test?
Completing a motorcycle safety class endorsed by AAMVA waives the skills test; the knowledge test is still required
