What the questions cover
Everything comes back to the Nevada Revised Statutes: signals and signs, right of way, speed rules, passing and lane use, parking, alcohol limits, and the licensing rules for new drivers. Multiple choice, one correct answer each.

25 questions, 20 to pass, and a fee to sit down
Nevada's written test is 25 multiple choice questions and you need 20 correct, an 80 percent score, so 5 misses is the margin. The same 25 question, 80 percent standard applies to teen and adult applicants alike. What sets Nevada apart is the money: a 25 dollar testing fee is due before you take the written test, and each retake costs 10 dollars on top. Most states put the whole cost on the permit itself, so a Nevada applicant who fails twice has paid three separate testing charges before the credential is even issued. A passing result stays valid for one year.

Nevada's Class M knowledge test is the same shape as the car paper, 25 questions with 20 correct to pass, and a Class C written test is added on top if the applicant does not already hold a Class C license. There is no separate endorsement document either: the Class M privilege is printed on the same license card the rider already carries, after a vision test plus the motorcycle knowledge and skills tests. The skills test runs on a closed course at a DMV office in four parts, a cone weave and stop, a 90 degree turn straight into a U-turn, a quick stop, and an obstacle swerve. Fail that skills test twice or more and Nevada permanently bars future motorcycle instruction permits, which leaves a certified course as the only route left. That course is also the way to skip both exams from the start. Completing a Motorcycle Safety Foundation certified course waives the DMV written knowledge test and the skills test entirely, and a Certificate of Completion brought to a DMV office within a year with the rider's existing Nevada license and the 8.50 dollar fee is all it takes to have the privilege issued.
